KENDAL waterpolo star Glen Robinson has won the British Waterpolo Championships for the sixth time with Lancaster.
The club, which has won the league 11 times, retained their title and Robinson will head to Australia in the new year to boost his Olympic ambitions.
Robinson, who helped GB achieve fourth at the European B Championships, has signed a four month deal with Adelaide Jets, and will join up with the team at the start of January.
His mum, Carole Robinson, said: “He and a few others will go away to up their game play. The team has been split up because of a lack of funding so players are going to get as much experience against the best players.”
Robinson will return in April and join up with the British squad in time for the European A Championships in Croatia in May, where Britain will be hoping for a good performance against the region’s best talents.
A strong championships would leave Robinson in a great position with the squad with just two years until the London Olympics.
