The 2003 Malcolm Wilson Rally, which runs on Saturday, has received a bumper number of entries according to organisers.
Event regulars and three times winner Steve Patch returns to do battle with Brian Bell, Steve Perez, the Squires brothers, John Bannister to name but a few.
The stages in the Whinlatter and Grizedale Forests are reported to be in excellent condition.
Local crews include Carnforth's BTRDA contender Ian Joel, Appleby's Dougi Hall (3rd in 2003), Arnside's Wayne Sisson (7th in 2003), Grizedales, David Shuttleworth, Kendal's Bob Green, Ambleside's Graham Gaskell and Staveley father and son duo David and Ed Meek.

Spectators can refer to this guide for race details: Grizedale South (Bowkersteads)- approach from the south only on the A590, leave the A590 at Newby Bridge and follow the signs for Satterthwaite. Follow the Car Park signs. Grizedale North - if coming from the south, leave the A590 at Newby Bridge and follow the signposts to Hawkshead; if coming from Ambleside in the north, follow the B5286, turning onto the B5285 for High Cross car park or continue into Hawkshead Moor; the Visitor Centre Car Park is to found further along this road.
