Kendal Town 2, Farsley Celtic 2.
IN THE final seconds of a pulsating match Paul Haddow grabbed an equaliser to give Kendal Town a share of the points against in-form side Farsley Celtic.
From the outset Town were often under pressure from the visitors, who were unbeaten in 10 games in the UniBond League First Division, but it was Kendal who opened the scoring on 27 minutes. Stuart Cliff raided down the right wing and launched a perfect cross into the box where Dean Whittal-Williams launched himself behind the defence to net a flying header.
The lead always looked fragile, but Town defended obstinately and, after keeper Lee Ward made a magnificent instinctive save from point blank range in the 70th minute it began to look as if Town might hold on for a second win in succession.
Manger Tony Hesketh's decision to substitute Damien Corocoran, who had played strongly in midfield seemed to backfire, however, as Farlsey began carving through the middle almost at will. In the 76th minute Amjao Iqbal buried a 30-yard shot along the ground into the corner of the net and on 80 minutes a cross from the right was slammed home by Farsley top scorer Andy Watson for what looked like a winner.
Deep in injury time a last attack by Town resulted in a cross from the left by David Foster being nodded on by Whittal-Williams for Haddow to volley in from eight yards.
