FAST, flowing football from Ingleton enabled them to continue their surge up the North Lancashire League Premier Division.
By contrast Boys Club could hardly string two passes together as they lost 3-0.
Ingleton peppered the Boys Club goal and the bombardment brought goals from youngsters Chris Jackson and David Baren and a third from veteran Chris Bibby.
Cartmel are clinging on to second-place in the division, but made hard work of beating Squires 3-2.
The village side played good attacking football and opened up a 3-0 with goals from Joel Drinkall (2) and Scott Burrows.
Half-time brought a dramatic transformation as Squires came to life and battered the Cartmel defence. Matty Craig scored and, after intense pressure, Dean Pachorozak made it 3-2 leaving Cartmel to hang on until the final whistle.
Bottom club Arnside were no match for Power Station, losing 4-1. Arnside were run ragged as Liam Steele netted a hat-trick and set up a fourth for Lee Cardwell. Long-serving Steve Pearson put Arnside on the scoresheet.
In Division One, Allithwaite Rangers appeared to be coasting to an easy win over City Contract Services. They outplayed the works side in every department and led 3-0 at half time thanks to Trevor Rowlandson, Craig Turner and David Law.
Then, in the second half, City Contracts began to win the ball and give Allithwaite the run around. Gary Johnson opened the scoring for them . Nigel Borrass added a second.
Substitute Simon Marshall equalised and then grabbed a second as City Contracts ran out 4-3 victors.
Burton Thistle and Ingleton Reserves were involved in an excellent 1-1 draw. Both teams gave their all and Ingleton opened the scoring through John Connaughton. For a long time it looked good enough to take the points, but Thistle never gave up and substitute Peter Gregory eventually scored a deserved equaliser.
In Division Two, Swarthmoor Social Club retained their status as the league's only unbeaten side with a 2-0 win over Bolton-le-Sands. Sands put up stubborn resistance, however, before falling to goals by Jamie Nelson and Gary Fawcett.
Grange's impressive form continued with a 3-0 victory over Caton United Reserves. Stuart Irving scored his first goal of the season with Tony Newall and Peter Gadsden also on target.
It was the Caton keeper who was Man of the Match, however, with a string of excellent saves.
Fifth-placed Bentham's promotion hopes were kept alive with a goalless draw against league leaders Galgate.
Carnforth Rangers won the basement battle by beating AFC Moorlands 2-0 through Mark Collins and James Askey.
Holme Athletic scored a good 5-1 win over Halton Rangers to leapfrog them in the table. Halton had no answer to the brilliant Steffan Baldwin who scored a hat-trick, his strike partner Lee Waddington adding the other two.
In Division Three, Allithwaite Reserves had their best win of the season when the thrashed bottom club Holme Athletic Reserves 7-1. Scorers for Allithwaite were: Daryl Lomas, Martin Law, Kevin Keith, Ryan Howay (2), Robert Brocklebank (own goal) and Kevin Thompson, with Barclay Bland netting for Holme.
Swarthmoor Reserves were involved in a goal fest, beating Burton Thistle Reserves 8-4. Swarthmoor scored at regular intervals through Daryl Evans (3), Stuart Jackson (2), Steve Gordon and Roy Brown (2), but left their defence wide open for replies from Tom Dobson, Phil Huddart, Bob Dillon and Dave Bennett.
Kirkby Lonsdale Rangers damaged Sands Athletics' push for promotion by deservedly holding them to a 2-2 draw, Steve Jamieson and Gary Smith netting the Kirkby goals.
Division Two side Arnside Reserves were beaten 2-0 by Torrisholme Reserves from Division Three in the second round of the Squires Snooker Centre/Fisher Cup. This hard-fought cup-tie was goalless until well into the second half when Kevin Murtagh lobbed the Arnside keeper. Poor finishing denied Arnside an equaliser and Torrisholme made sure of the match when Trevor Sherrington converted a late penalty.
