Milnthorpe Corinthians 1 - 4 Kirkham & Wesham.

IT WAS always going to be a tough game for the Milnthorpe side against the top of the league side and that is exactly how it turned out.

Kirkham attacked almost non-stop in the first half and had it not been for keeper Russell Sharpe, Corinthians could have been more than the one goal behind at half-time.

In the second half Corinthians found themselves 2-0 down to what appeared to be an offside goal.

The Milnthorpe side did not allow themselves to be put off by this and good work by Andrew Banks found Kevin Pickering just inside his own half. He set off on a run that took him to 25 yards from goal and he powered a shot into the net.

Corinthians then had a good share of the play but could not find an equaliser.

With time running out the superior fitness of the away side showed and they scored two more goals, which was a little harsh on the home side who battled right to the end.

- Corinthians Reserves lost 2-1 away to Kirkham & Wesham Reserves. David Davidson scored for Corinthians.
