Privateer racer Alan Chamley intends sampling the unique atmosphere of the Isle of Man TT Races this summer after setting his fastest-ever lap there 12 months ago.
Riding his tuned-up ZXR 400 Kawasaki, Chamley busted through the 100mph barrier with a personal fastest lap of 101.78mph and gained a highly sought after bronze replica.
Chamley's TT bid goes back five years. After third and fourth places in the 400 class at the Manx GP, he turned his attention to the showcase event and was a best-placed sixth that year.
An engine blow-up the following year came after he threatened to break the ton' with a lap of 99.99mph, while in 2000 he rode an ex-Honda UK 400 machine to 17th place in a weather-delayed race.
The 2001 TT was cancelled due to foot and mouth and he was 17th on the newly-bought Kawasaki two years ago. Some engine tuning helped and he was 16th last year and set another new fastest lap of 101.78mph.
Chamley is looking for any companies interested in supporting his TT bid and offers to put the company name and logo on the bike's bodywork (ring Kendal 735380).
