WINDERMERE St Anne's School pupils pupils, Christopher Denton and Sam Etherington, pulled off an amazing coup in their first entry in an international junior ski race.
The team travelled to the resort of Wengen, in Switzerland, to take part in the British Boys Ski Club combined slalom and giant slalom event.
The grand slalom race took place on the Monday and the slalom was run in very difficult conditions on the following day.
Denton won the unseeded section of the Under 14 event, with Etherington runner-up in the same competition against 107 competitors, 30 being seeded.
To cap their trip the boys had the luxury of an extra day on the continent as their return flights back to John Lennon Airport in Liverpool were cancelled on Wednesday due to the snow!
Natalie Baldwin, Head of Physical Education at Windermere St Anne's, said: "For their first effort at competitive ski racing, all the boys have done fantastically well. The experience they have gained on this trip will boost their skills and confidence levels for future competitions."
