A FOOTBALL match has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Kendal Town FC were due to play their final pre-season friendly against Blackpool U23’s at the JRobs Ground Maintenance Stadium at 15:00 PM today.
However, after heavy rainfall, the decision was made this morning to call the game off for the player’s safety.
The Mintcakes have recorded six wins out of their seven pre-season friendlies scoring an impressive 27 goals in the process.
Jimmy Marshall’s side started their pre-season with a comprehensive 8-0 win away to Caton United before then drawing 1-1 at home to Lancaster City.
They then then recorded a 7-0 thrashing at home to Whitehaven, 6-1 away win to Lostock St Gerard’s, 3-0 win against Oldham Athletic U23s and a narrow 1-0 win against Carlisle City.
Their only defeat came in their recent friendly at home to Penrith where they slipped to a 3-1 defeat.
Kendal Town FC start their league campaign in the North West Counties Football League at home to AFC Liverpool on July 29.
