THE Mintcakes have made it into the next round of the Macron Cup after another victory.
Tom Kilifins hat trick eased Kendal Town into the next round of the competition after they defeated Burscough 4-1 on Friday.
The Mintcakes who continued their good run of form played well on a potentially difficult night in a game which was played on 4g.
Kendal were 1-0 up after just two minutes when Shaun Sailor scored, before Burscough equalised four minutes later following a goal by Christopher Fankam.
However Tom Kilifin struck twice in the first half as Kendal were 3-1 up at half time before Kilifin completed his hat trick sixteen minutes before full time as The Mintcakes progressed into the next round and a home game against New Mills.
Kendal were confident going into the game, however they had to guard against complacency where they played an opponent who are second from bottom in The North West Counties Premier Division.
The start to the game proved crucial for Kendal who were 1-0 up after just two minutes when Steve Yawson beat the offside trap down the wing before playing the ball across the box to Shaun Sailor who tapped home from close range.
The lead lasted just four minutes when Christopher Fankam scored from close range following a ball into the box as Burscough equalised.

Kilifin scored his second and Kendal’s third with a composed finished from close range following good work by Shaun Sailor and Steve Yawson as Kendal were 3-1 up at half time.
Kendal controlled the second half with Yawsons delivery into the penalty area causing problems for the hosts,while Rob Wilsons free kick into the area was flicked over the bar by Tom Kilifin.
The Mintcakes continued to dominate and create opportunities with Shaun Sailor and Brandon Croskell Robinson causing problems for the hosts.
Tom Kilifin made it 4-1 after he scored a stunning overhead kick which went into the net on 73 minutes, before Kendal saw out the closing stages to seal a dominant and comfortable win as the teams good run continued.
Kendal host Congleton Town on Saturday before hosting Barnoldswick Town on Wednesday night in two important games for the team as they aim to climb up the league table.
