KENDAL Town Football Club have seen a new wave of signings and preparations ahead of the upcoming season.
Local fan favourite Darren Nightingale has re-committed to the club ahead of the season, which the club announced June 8.
"He stepped up to the level brilliantly after playing locally and we're hoping there's more to come".
The club has announced the signing of another former Mint Cake as Rob Wilson joined the squad as a midfielder.
Rob Wilson said: "I’m delighted to join Kendal Town after having previously played for them. Hopefully with a few more new signings we can push on and be a strong team this coming season. It’s a challenge I’m looking forward to."
As well as the former Kendal player, the team is welcoming Tom Kilifin back into their ranks for the upcoming 22/23 season.
Tom Kilifin said: "I'm really happy to be back. I’ve always enjoyed coming up here. With Rob signing, and after speaking with Jimmy, I am confident we can have a good season as a team and also for me personally. Im looking forward to getting going."
The experienced forward has also previously played for the club and marks the fourth new addition added by manager Jimmy Marshall.
Mint cake manager Jimmy Marshall said: "I'm delighted Darren has re committed to the club for the next season.
"We are over the moon that Rob has agreed to sign and join us on this journey. He’s a player I know well who has played at a higher level and has great experience. He will fit excellently into our system and we're really pleased to get him on board.
"Tom is another fantastic signing. He’s a goalscorer first and foremost, but he can come short, help build attacks, and can run in behind and stretch defences. He’s also a great lad that will help create the type of atmosphere we want in the dressing room."
