‘What a guy’-England manager ‘spotted’ in village
A POLICE team had a little help slowing down traffic today in Shap from a former English football star.
Eden Police put a mask of England manager Gareth Southgate onto its cardboard cut-out copper to help slow down motorists in the village.
A force spokesman said: “Gareth Southgate OBE.
“Former professional football player, England national team manager, Shap community speed watch champion.
“What a guy.”
Tomorrow will see England play Denmark in a Euro 2020 semi-final match.
