KENDAL won by 71 runs at Leyland thanks to Chris Millers second innings return of 5-14 off 10 overs which saw Leyland bowled out for just 66 in 31.1 overs.
The Auld Greys had been bowled out for 149 with contributions of 41 by Darren Nightingale as well as knocks of 30 by Chalana Da Silva and Joseph Dodds, however their first innings total proved to be enough despite Iain Critchleys return of 5-15.
Kendal who won the toss and elected to bat made the worst possible start after Chris Miller was trapped LBW by Ross Bretherton.
However, Kendal recovered with Darren Nightingale and Harry Lee edging their score onto 52 before Nightingale was bowled by David Makinson.
Chalana Da Silva and Harry Lee edged their score closer to 100, before a batting collapse saw the Auld Greys slump onto 105-6.
Da Silva played one shot too many before being caught by Andrew Makinson off Kurtis Watsons delivery, while Saeed Bariwala and Harry Lee were next to depart with Bariwala trapped LBW by Karl Cross before Lee was bowled by Iain Critchley.
Critchley ripped through the lower order with James Park, William Price, Richard Dakin and Kuldeep Singh all falling victim with Kendal all out for 141 off 49 overs.
Leyland posted 27 for the wicket with Karl Cross and James Rounding however once James Rounding hit the wicket off Kuldeep Singhs delivery the hosts collapsed with Chris Miller seeing off Kurtis Watson who was caught by Singh while Chalana Da Silva trapped Ross Bretherton LBW.
Chris Miller ripped through the hosts batting after the captain saw off Karl Cross, Lloyd Tenant and Joe Wallwork Woods.
Chalana Da Silva bowled Andrew Makinson with Chris Miller taking his fifth wicket after he bowled Ben Weaver and Da Silva finished the game off trapping Iain Critchley LBW and with Leyland’s Jacob Wright absent for the second innings, Kendal celebrated the win with Leyland all out for 66 off 31.1 overs.
Kendal host Lancaster on Saturday.
