THE James Cropper Westmorland League as well as The West Lancashire Leagues adapted cup competitions entered into their final weekend, while the Benevolent Trophy also entered into the next stage with some interesting results for all the teams involved.
In the Benevolent Trophy competition defending cup holders Wetheriggs United suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to Kirkoswald with Mark Winspear scoring the winning goal.
Jacob Matthews’s hat trick and goals from Connor Winn, Alistair Wilson and Brad Hodgson saw Endmoor KGR progress into the next round with an emphatic 6-1 win against Burneside.
Carleton Banks pulled off a surprise 4-1 victory over Ibis, Greystoke edged out Staveley United 2-1, while Sedbergh & Dent United defeated Shap 3-1.
In the West Lancashire League adapted cup competition, Milnthorpe Corinthians qualified into the quarter finals after they battled back from 2-0 down before winning 4-2 at Slyne with Hest. Jamie Woodruff, Ben Thomas, Matt Playle and Steven Crossley scored the goals as Corinthians now travel to play Vickerstown on Saturday.
Kendal County just missed out on a quarter final place despite winning 1-0 at Kendal United in a feisty local derby at Caste Drive.
Both teams had a couple of confrontations during the second half, while Kendal United were reduced to ten men after Tomasz Sanchez was shown a red card.
Kendal United had more bad luck just before half time when club captain Bailey Kenny had to go off injured, while the hosts missed a few opportunities, hitting the bar.
However Kendal County picked up the win when a ball into the area was headed home by George Key, while Ryan Dodds pulled off a stunning save to deny Kendal United as County claimed the bragging rights.
In The James Cropper Westmorland League, Kendal Uniteds Reserves booked their place in the semi-finals after they defeated Ibis Reserves 2-1, with Matt Kennedy and Sam Mc Kee scoring the goals.
Kendal County Reserves also progressed into the semi-finals after they defeated Windermere Reserves 2-0 with Brandon Colloby and Callum Moffatt on target.
Endmoor KGR also advanced into the semi-finals of their respective league competition following a 1-1 draw with Sedbergh & Dent United.
