Kendal Town returned to action as they played three friendly games during the space of a few days.
Players gained some much-needed fitness and game-time following their inactivity due to the national lockdown.
However, Kendal, who played their own reserve team as well as Bamber Bridge and Carlisle United's Reserves, ended up losing two out of the three games while their only win came against the reserves last Thursday night.
Kendal fielded different teams in each game, while some reserve team players featured in the friendly defeat to Bamber Bridge.
Chris Humphrey also played in the second half of both of the games against the reserves and and Carlisle on Tuesday night.
Kendal did start off well, as they defeated their reserves 3-0 with goals from Ryan Rodgers, Ben Anderson and Jordan Scott.
The reserves caused problems for the first team, but a change of players and fitness told during the second half as they secured the win.
On Saturday, Kendal played a strong Bamber Bridge team who play in the league above and, during the first half, Kendal struggled while Bamber Bridge opened the scoring when former Kendal player Danny Forbes headed the ball into the net.
Kendal improved and created opportunities in the second half as Bamber Bridge were under more pressure, before the visitors sealed the win after 87 minutes when a tame free kick by Macauley Wilson found the back of the net.
In the final game, Kendal crashed to a 3-0 defeat against Carlisle United Reserves with all goals scored in the second half.
Kendal didn’t create much during the first half but they were defensively solid against a youthful Carlisle team.
They did improve again in the second, with Jamie Hodgson forcing a strong save out of the visiting keeper before Carlisle scored three late goals to seal the win.
Kendal's next friendly game is scheduled for Tuesday night when they host Morecambe Academy at Parkside Road.
The game will be behind closed doors and will kick off at 7pm.
