CARNFORTH continued their reign at the top of Division One A of the Westmorland Cricket League thanks to a 138 run victory over Warton.
Bradley Hoyles’ undefeated knock of 68 and Chris Parry’s opening score of 56 helped Carnforth close on an imposing total of 214-3, with Shane Dixon scoring 41 for the hosts.
Carnforth made light work of their opponents with Alex Benson's figures of 5-12 leading the way, as they bowled Warton out for 76.
In the other games Sedgwick remained second in the group after winning by three wickets at Silverdale.
Sedgwick held their nerve to secure the win with Tom Willacy's lower order score of 28 proving critical before Shaun Mason's undefeated 10 guided the visitor’s home as they closed on 83-7 off 38.5 overs.
In the final Division One A game, Robert Shephards’ first innings return of 4-8 and Adam Richardson’s second innings undefeated knock of 31 guided Arnside to a five wicket win at Milnthorpe, who saw Sam Woodburn return figures of 4-28.
Westgate remained in the top position of Division One B; however, they were made to work for their latest win where they defeated Bare by three wickets.
Westgate posted 181/7 from their innings , with Dylan Conroy top scoring on 33. Andrew Hill 33, and Jack Huntington, 27 also chipped in with runs.
They then ran out 71 run winners, as Zak Buchanan took 5-18 and Sam Conroy's 3-31 saw them skittle Bare out for 110.
Burneside defeated Heysham by 49 runs after Nathan Chambers produced figures of 5-14, as Heysham were bowled out for 47. Chambers dismantled Heyshams’ attack, which had initially bowled Burneside out for just 96.
Shireshead routed Trimpell by 179 runs, after Thomas Jacques first innings score of 44 saw Shireshead post 193-9, A stunning spell of bowling from Dave Jacks’ that saw him produced figures of 7-2 dismantled Trimpell who were bowled out for just 14 in 11 overs.
Despite success in Division One, Carnforth were defeated by four wickets at Ingleton, while Kirkby Lonsdale saw off Cartmel by six wickets.
Coniston won by 148 runs at Sedgwick Seconds, Westgate won by four wickets over Holme, while Netherfield Thirds remained top of the division where they won by six wickets at Windermere.
Division three saw Netherfield win against Ingleton, Burneside defeated Kendal 3rds by 55 runs after an defeated score of 47 from Steve Huggonson, who also contributed to the first innings with 5-18.
