SECOND teams are battling for position in the league after successive wins and losses.
Netherfield’s Second team are still hungry for their first win of the season after losing to Morecambe Seconds at Parkside Road.
Whilst the result was not what they wanted; they were still worthy opponents to Morecambe but were defeated by 64 runs.
Luke Pearson was top scored with 87 after Morecambe closed on 176-3 off 40 overs.
Later, Stefan Dixons made a return of 4-15 which saw Netherfield bowled out for 112 with Scott Clement ending with a top score with 38.
Unfortunately, Kendal also tasted defeat this weekend after being beaten by 17 runs at Torrisholmes.
The game even saw former Kendal player Dan Woods scoring 61 off 123 balls for Torrisholmes’ first innings concluding with a score of 151-6.
In reply Phil Sparrow's return of 4-25 saw Kendal all out for 134 despite David Batty’s top scoring knock of 57 off 98 balls.
Netherfield will next play at Garstang, while Kendal will entertain Longridge Seconds.
