KENDAL suffered another defeat this weekend against Morecambe despite a gallant performance.
Facing off against Morecambe at Woodhill Lane in the 40 Over Cup, the Kendal Cricketers were defeated by eleven runs.
The Auld Greys, who had been defeated by the same opponents in the reverse fixture at Shap Road, still put on a brave showing and brought out the best in their opponents.
Kendal bowled relatively tight during those opening stages before Kuldeep Singh claimed the wicket of Briggs who was caught behind by Richard Dakin.
Kendal continued to bowl well with the hosts struggling to gain any momentum initially.
Once roles were reserved, Kendal made a bad start in their reply following the dismissals of both Darren Nightingale and Tom Aspinwall who both fell victim to Liam Moffatt.
Morecambe gained further control after Kieran Moffatt picked up the wickets of James Park and Ben Phillips who both fell to the respective catches of Liam Moffatt and Ryan Pearson.
The ending score saw Kendal finish on 151-9.
Kendal host Netherfield on Saturday in the local derby with the game starting at 1pm.
