THE WESTMORLAND Football Association’s girl’s development team has opened its registration to the public.
In preparation for whenever the upcoming season can get underway, the association has begun allowing new players to register for the team.
The programme, which will for the second season have four different squads representing the county, will be hoping to build on the success of the previous campaign where there were over 100 girls on trial to represent the county.
Each squad will cover the Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 age categories with a different coach looking after each group.
A further addition, ahead of the new season, is that training will be held weekly while players have the opportunity to purchase new kit.
To apply for the trials, players need to be playing in t South Lakes Girls League and have also played for a Westmorland FA affiliated club.
Training will take place every week rather than once a fortnight and off the pitch. The Westmorland FA has also announced the appointment of Chris Miller, who will be part of the forthcoming seasons coaching team, which includes James Pattison, Graeme Blair and Rob Haworth.
The Westmorland FA are looking for an assistant coach to join the programme.
Those interested can contact James Pattison for an application form and full role profile at James. Pattison@WestmorlandFA.com.
