A DRAMATIC finish saw Kendal second XI secure the Palace Shield T20 Division Two title with a boundary off the very last ball.
The four secured victory over Thornton Cleveleys by four wickets and sparked joyous celebrations for the Auld Greys on an entertaining finals day held at Mawdesley CC.
Kendal had secured that final spot with an emphatic eight wicket win against Tarleton.
Alec Carradus picked up figures of 3-9 as Tarleton were all out for 95, and they knocked off the runs in 14.3 overs, Oliver Tyson finishing undefeated on 52.
The previous day, the Auld Greys' seconds had fallen to defeat in a Palace Shield Division 1B game against Fleetwood 2nds at Shap Road.
The visitors made 133 all out, Andrew Dugdale taking 5-33, but the home side mustered just 114 all out in reply.
In the same division, Netherfield 2nds chalked up a fine win in a high scoring game at Fulwood & Broughton 2nds.
The home side made 175 for 8, and Netherfield overhauled that total for the loss of six wickets with both Fraser Kay and Joel Derham making fine half-centuries.
