THERE were amazing scenes at Westgate where both Zak Buchanan (5/11) and Sam Conroy (5/12), pictured left, claimed hat tricks as their side bundled out visitors Burneside for just 27.
Earlier, the home side had made 176, Dylan Conroy hitting 68, as Westgate went second in Division 1 with their fifth victory in succession in all cricket.
Arnside went clear at the top with a 107 run win at Warton as Mike Shepherd hit 74, and though Gareth Price (5/37) limited the total to 187, this proved enough as Adam Cowperthwaite (5/19) and Nobby Lee (3/12) got to work.
Heysham were dismissed for 60 at home to Carnforth, for whom Darren Nelson (3/26) and Tom Parkinson (3/12) did the damage before Chris Parry’s 31 not out led them home by 9 wickets.
Trimpell climbed out of the relegation places by beating Silverdale as despite Matty James’ 6/49, they posted 161 before Peter McDermid’s 6/23 ensured victory.
Sedgwick travelled to Shireshead who reached 184/5 thank to an aggressive unbeaten 57 by Dave Jack, but Richard Hanson (34 not out) and Chris Evans (63 not out) batted brilliantly to take the visitors to victory.
Milnthorpe defended 119/6 by bowling out Holme for 76 (James Parkinson 4/28, Mike Wills 5/38).
In Division 2, Cartmel gained their first win against Heysham 2nd XI, who made just 78 thanks to with William Anderson (4/10) and Jono Cooper (4/34).
The match saw the debut of 13-year-old Oscar Unsworth, pictured right with father David, who is the fifth generation Unsworth to play for Cartmel.
Greg Weddell’s 4/21 helped dismiss Shireshead 2nd XI for 88 at Division 2 table toppers Coniston, who clinched a four wicket win.
Kirkby Lonsdale were all out for 33 at home to Carnforth 2nd XI (Sam Lister 3/11), who won by 6 wickets, while Danny Wilkinson scored 104 not out as Westgate 2nd XI made 154/6 at Netherfield then Jacob Vaughan (6/31) dismissed the home side for 83.
Bare posted 168/5 against Penrith 2nd XI despite former first team captain Kriss McLean taking 5/33 and eventually won by 75 runs.
In Division 3 there were wins for Leven Valley (George Needham 54 not out) against Carnforth 3rd XI, for Galgate (Hill 5/8) at Sedgwick, and a first win for Silverdale 2nd XI against Netherfield 4th XI.
Morecambe 3rd XI totalled 194/5 against Arnside, but fifties from Edward Hart (64) and Kieran Fallows (54) secured a draw, while Holme 2nd XI’s last pair denied Bolton-le-Sands a win.
In Division 4, leaders Ambleside and Shireshead 3rd XI won, while the Hackney & Leigh T20 saw Westgate and Carnforth victories.
