WINDERMERE A defeated Staveley A 8-2 in the Kendal and District Bowling League on another busy week of action across all six divisions.
Windermere, who have moved up to eighth place, picked up an important win against a Staveley team who are currently second from bottom in the table.
Steve Carruthers picked up the first points for Windermere after he defeated Andrew Atkinson 21-15, while Jane Glaister edged out Russell Cannon 21-18.
Windermere continued to pile on the points after Chris West saw off Vinnie Harper 21-8, while Peter Dobson picked up the best result for the home team when he eased past Keith Donoghue 21-7.
Staveley battled back when Julie Johnson claimed the best result for her team with an impressive 21-13 victory over Denis Blair, before Alan Biggins battled past Simon Walker 21-17.
However, Windermere secured the win through Paul Bush, who eased past David Reid 21-11.
In the other games. Holme A remain 13 points clear at the top of the division following an emphatic 9-1 win at Burneside A.
Victoria A continue to be the nearest challengers in second place after they defeated Hale A 7-3.
Levens A edged out Netherfield A 6-4, Burton A saw off Lindale A 7-3, while Victoria B won 8-2 at Holme B.
Burton B are five points clear at the top of Division Two after they held on to defeat Subscription A 6-4. Netherfield B climbed up to second place following a 7-3 win against Ambleside A.
Crosthwaite A picked up an important 8-2 victory against Netherfield C, Levens B won 6-4 at Abbot Hall A, while Kirkby Lonsdale A defeated Windermere B 9-1.
In Division Three Arnside A edged out Endmoor A 6-4, Milnthorpe A won 8-2 at Allithwaite B, Victoria C defeated Ingleborough A 8-2, Windermere C saw off Heversham A 7-3, Sedbergh defeated Allithwaite C 9-1, while Holme C and Lower Holker A drew 5-5.
Victoria D won 7-3 at Arnside B in Division Four. Peter Hine was one of the stand out performers for the visitors after he defeated Sheila Fishlock 21-19, while Martin Blamire claimed the most emphatic result when he saw off Colin Milligan 21-6.
In the other games Netherfield D were victorious after they defeated Abbot Hall B 7-3, Hawkshead and Hale B both picked up respective 8-2 victories against Lindale B and Langdale, Lower Holker B drew 5-5 with Bowness A while Subscription B and Burneside B battled out another 5-5 draw.
In Division Five Staveley B won 6-4 at Crosthwaite B, Levens C saw off Holme D 8-2, while Subscription C, Endmoor B and Kirkby Lonsdale B all picked up respective 7-3 wins over Lindale C, Windermere D and Heversham B.
Sedbergh B, Burton-in-Lonsdale,Bowness B, Ambleside C, Silverdale and Milnthorpe B all picked up crucial wins in Division Six.
