NETHERFIELD A remain two points clear at the top of South Westmorland Senior Bowling League Division One after defeating Springfield A 7-1.
John Capstick defeated Geoff Longshaw 21-9, while Tony Dixon saw off Pam Woof 21-1.
Roger Townsend added further points for the hosts when he battled past Eddie Knowles 21-10. In the doubles Joyce Barker and Peter Shepherd picked up an impressive 21-7 victory over Alan Tonge and Andrew Cross before John Sarsfield and Roy Crompton defeated Tom Davies and Audrey Shannon 21-6.
Springfield's only points came through Helen Cross, who defeated Mal Barker 21-8.
In the other games Holme A are two points behind after they drew 4-4 at Warton A, Victoria A defeated Netherfield B 8-0, Levens A ran out 7-1 winners against Subscription A, Silverdale A won 6-2 at Windermere A, while Lindale A defeated Burneside A 7-1.
Carnforth A are two points clear at the top of Division Two following a 6-2 victory over Arnside A.
Allithwaite A won 5-3 at Ingleborough A while Crosthwaite A, Abbot Hall A and Bolton-le-Sands A all picked up respective 6-2 wins against Warton B, Heversham A and Lower Holker A.
In Division Three Lower Holker B, Bowness A, Milnthorpe A, Burton-in-Lonsdale and Burneside B picked up respective 6-2 wins over Levens B, Carnforth B, Hawkshead, Abbot Hall B and Lindale B. In the final game Endmoor A edged out Sedbergh B 5-3.
Springfield B,Victoria B, Holme B and Kirkby Lonsdale B were all victorious in Division Four, while in Division Five the stand-out result saw Bolton-le-Sands B win 6-2 at Staveley B.
