THE battle for supremacy in the Kendal and District Bowling League continued to heat up after a busy round of action across all six divisions.
In Division One, Levens A are third in the table after they won 7-3 at Holme B.
Levens made a bad start after both Bob Grisedale and Dave McRoy picked up respective 21-18 victories against Aiden Milliard and Daniel Edmonds.
Levens stayed in the game thanks to Tom Dennison’s 21-15 win over Alan Hine and while Holme’s David Crayston battled past Steve Greenway 21-18, Levens regained the momentum after Graham Wood and Paul Kissock both claimed respective 21-17 wins over Tom Baxter and Mike Fell.
And the visitors picked up the remaining points when James Dennison claimed a 21-15 win over Ellie Chandler before Billy Harding sealed an impressive victory with a hard fought 21-17 win over Alan Stewart.
In the other games, Holme A remained top after they edged out Victoria B 6-4, Victoria A defeated Windermere A 7-3, Hale A won by the same score with victory over Staveley A, Burneside A won 6-4 at Burton A, while Netherfield A defeated Lindale A 10-0.
Burton B remain top of Division Two after they won 7-3 at Netherfield C.
Ray Russell picked up the best result for the league leaders after he defeated Derek Conchie 21-9, while Dave Mitchell claimed the best result for the home team after he saw off Martin Richardson 21-12.
Subscription A and Kirkby Lonsdale A both picked up 6-4 wins against Netherfield B and Abbot Hall A respectively, Ambleside B won 8-2 against Crosthwaite A, Levens B defeated Windermere B 9-1 while Allithwaite A defeated Ambleside A 10-0.
In Division Three, Victoria C picked up a 7-3 win at Sedbergh with Harry Postlethwaite claiming the best result after defeating Tony Simpson 21-8.
Ingleborough A defeated Lower Holker A 8-2, Milnthorpe A impressed after they won 9-1 against Heversham A, Allithwaite B defeated Windermere C 7-3, Allithwaite C saw off Endmoor A 8-2 while Holme C edged out Arnside A 6-4.
Lindale B and Burneside B both claimed respective 9-1 victories against Abbot Hall B and Langdale in Division Four, while in the other games, Hale B battled past Netherfield D 7-3, Victoria D edged out Bowness A 6-4, Lower Holker B won by the same score against Arnside B while Hawkshead impressed against Subscription B with an 8-2 triumph.
In Division Five, there wins for Levens C, Staveley B, Subscription C, Crosthwaite B and Endmoor B.
And in Division Six, Silverdale won at Milnthorpe C, Sedbergh B defeated Staveley C 6-4, Bowness B and Burton in Lonsdale both picked up respective 9-1 victories against Allithwaite D and Endmoor C while Milnthorpe B won 7-3 at Ambleside C.
