Kendal County made a flying start to the season after they routed Walney Island 4-0 in this opening West Lancashire League Division Two game.
The Claret and Blues who are now managed by Daniel Ferguson scored four first half goals to rout a dispirited Walney Island side.
Kendal who gave debuts to Cameron Stewart and Brad Thompson started the game on the front foot and could have been in front after just two minutes when Brody Wallace Moffatt blasted high.
County continued to dominate as Kris Clough fired the ball at the keeper before Brody Moffatt also had a good chance on goal.
However Kendal's dominant play was soon rewarded when Joe Matthew Clarke scored from close range. Walney showed very little going forward as County's back line looked difficult to break down.
With Kendal in control their dominant play was rewarded after Clarke slotted the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net as Dan Ferguson's team went 2-0 up.
Jay Turner added a third a minute later after a tame shot was fumbled into the net by Walney goalkeeper Lewis Law while Joe Baker scored a fourth goal as Kendal pulled away from the visitors.
Baker almost added a fifth just before half time but his effort sailed over the bar.
In the second half, Kendal remained comfortable, as chances on goal were few and far between. Joe Hudson, and Daniel Turner had the best opportunities for the visitors, while Ferguson almost scored for County.
Ferguson also had a chance near the end as he collected a Pete Carradus' through ball before he blazed the ball over.
Kendal though will be happy with the result as they travel to Leyland on Saturday.
Elsewhere in the West Lancashire leagues, a Dave Mansergh goal was not enough to prevent Crooklands Casuals starting their Premier Division campaign with a 3-1 defeat at home to Fullwood Amateurs on Saturday. The Casuals suffered an even heavier defeat on Tuesday night as Slyne with Hest ran out 4-0 winners.
Josh Jones' opener for Dalton United proved to be a mere consolation as they lost 4-1 to Wyre Villa in Division One. Milnthorpe Corinthians lost by the same score at Stoneclough while Askam United lost 3-0 at Lytham Town.
Division Two side Swarthmoor lost 1-0 at Croston Sports on Saturday before a 2-2 draw against Furness Cavaliers on Monday.
