Milnthorpe Corinthians won a pulsating derby as they defeated Kendal County 3-2 in a dramatic game at Parkside Road.
The result now leaves second-placed Corinthians just four points behind Kendal County with two games in hand.
However the result is a devastating blow for County who have just one game left.
Both teams started slowly with the main threats coming from Kendal's Matthew Clarke and Corinthian's Elliot Bousfield.
However it was Corinthians who broke the deadlock on 21 minutes when Eliot Bousfield cut inside and unleashed a 3- yard screamer into the top left hand corner of the net giving Ryan Dodds no chance in the Kendal goal.
As the half progressed Kendal County battled back and equalised when Joe Baker latched onto a square ball from Matthew Clarke, to guide the ball into the top corner of the net with a superb strike.
However as the half drew to a close Corinthians went back in front as former Blackpool and Kendal Town player Danny Coid curled in a free kick from 25 yards as Dodds was again left stranded.
County pressed hard and were rewarded on 55 minutes when Kris Clough turned the ball into the Corinthians net following a goalmouth scramble.
Corinthians grabbed the initiative on 63 minutes as Peter Baxendale made a run behind the County backline before cutting the ball across the box to Coid, who side footed the ball into the net from six yards.
Milnthorpe defended solidly and saw the remainder of the game out to collect a massive three points.
Elsewhere, Premier Division side Crooklands didn't play at the weekend as their trip to Lockstock St Gerards was called.
In Division One, and eight-goal thriller saw Dalton United draw 4-4 with Mill Hill St Peters, while Askam United lost 3-1 away at Hurst Green.
