Kendal driver Jim MacDiarmid holds a slender two-point lead in the Hemingway Northern Speed Championship after winning the latest round on the wet and windy Knockhill circuit, near Edinburgh.
The OMS Suzuki driver and his partner and crew chief Jane Green took maximum points after a day-long battle with his chief rival Peter Garforth in a Hawke ZX10.
At the same meeting Lotus Elise driver Martin Stott, of Windermere, took his second class win of the year.
The series now goes to the fast Elvington Sprint, near York, on June 6, then to the Barbon Hill Climb on June 16, where MacDiarmid hopes to go one better than his second fastest time of the day in 2006.
