SPEEDING IN THE DOCK: Windermere's loss has been Barrow's gain in terms of spectacular motorboat racing.
Already Windermere Motorboat Racing Club has made a successful transfer from the lake to Ramsden Dock, where spectators have a much closer view of the action.
Last weekend a new dimension was added when the British Jetski Association used the venue for the first time to stage a round of its National Championships.
The event featured both traditional racing and freestyle action, with riders able to launch their machines into complete somersaults.
British Champion Luke Brooks won both the Ski Superstock races and James Bushall, also a national champion for his class won both the Runabout Superstock races. Jason Young won the ski race.
