NETHERFIELD opener Craig Walmsley hammered an unbeaten 86 to help the Parksiders romp to an eight-wicket win over Barrow in the 3-D Sports Northern Premier League on Saturday.

South African World Cup bowler Charl Langeveldt made his belated debut for the team and took 2-57, including the key wicket of Barrow professional Pasan Wanasinghe.

But it was Netherfield skipper Scott Clement who took the bowling honours with 5-22 off 10.4 overs as Barrow were restricted to an all-out total of 152.

Netherfield were never much troubled in reply, making 157-2 with Walmsley (86no) joined by Chris Parry (26) and Ryan Brown (32) in the runs for a winning reply of 157-2 in 33 overs.

Kendal'ns new recruit Phil Thornton, who has joined the club from Lancaster, settled in well with a knock of 80 as his new club piled up 256-5 declared off 45 overs away at Chorley.

Other good runs came from Aussie professional Graeme Aldridge (54) and Kevin Howarth (62).

Spinner Ben Simm then got among the Chorley wickets wuith 5-30 as only Andrew Holdsworth showed much resistance and were all out for 145 in 48.4 overs.
