NEW cricket nets have been installed at the Lakes School and Sports College with the help of a £4,984 grant from Awards for All run by the Big Lottery Fund.
Local cricketers have welcomed the nets inside the school sports hall as an indoor community facility and they have been also used by seven different clubs or groups, as well as students.
Assistant Head teacher and Director of Specialism (Sports college) Helen Robinson said: "It has actually brought the local clubs together around the same table, wanting to work together for the young people.
"I am sure this will impact on the sport and get more people wanting to become involved with cricket."
