SIR John Barrow School of Ulverston won through with a last-gasp score in the final to earn the right to represent the South Lakes area at Tag Rugby in next month's Cumbria Youth Games at Penrith.
More than 200 boys and girls took part in the District Tag Rugby Festival, sponsored by Yazoo in partnership with England Youth Rugby, which was hosted by Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club.
The event for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils for mixed teams of seven players was organised and run by the Community Rugby Coach for the South Lakes, Garry Holmes, and attracted 22 teams, with each team playing at least four times.
Tag Rugby training camps and rugby taster days are planned during the summer.
