IN THE Kendal and District Bowling League, K.A.Hale A inched ahead of Netherfield A at the top of Division One after their meeting in Kendal.
The home team had to accept their first defeat of the season on the aggregate, 4-6, the main damage being done by Hale's top two players, Martin Gilpin and Dave Clarkson.
Bowness A take over third place thanks to a 6-4 away win at bottom team K.A.Hale B, with Holme A dropping to fourth after a heavy 7-3 away defeat at Levens A
