THE famous Lashings World XI packed with past and present stars of the game will be in Sedbergh on Friday, May 25 to play a Sedbergh School Invitation XI.
The Lashings team will include many well-known cricketing legends, including Sri Lankan players direct from the World Cup final.
The Lashings squad is: Jimmy Adams (WI), Hashim Amla (SA), Russel Arnold (SL), Greg Blewett (Aus), Phil DeFreitas (Eng), Chris Harris (NZ), Nantie Hayward (SA), Sanath Jayasuriya (SL), A. Kallicharran (SL), Rashid Latif (Pak), Henry Olonga (Zim), Richie Richardson (WI, capt).
The 35-overs game stars at 2.30pm and entrance to the ground is £10 for adults (free for school-age children and younger), with a big crowd expected.
One place in the School Invitation XI is still available to the highest bidder: details of how to make a bid are available on the school website - www.sedberghschool.org - but bids are due to close at noon on Wednesday, May 16.
A small number of tables are still available for the pre-match lunch in a marquee overlooking the playing area (contact school events manager 015396 22283).
