EVERYTHING is in place for a 1,400-strong field to tackle the Brathay Windermere Marathon, which starts and finishes at the Brathay Hall Estate, on Sunday, May 20.
The organisers at Brathay are throwing open the doors to the estate and all the on-site facilities including its state of the art new canopy walk, a climbing wall, canoes and whale boats are available to entertain and thrill throughout the day.
In addition, there will be a circus troupe from Ambleside Circus Skills School, two live bands, The Lakes Jazzmen and Boomdang, and plenty of opportunities to eat and drink while cheering on the marathon runners.
And the world record attempt at ten marathons in ten days finishes at the Brathay finish-line on marathon day.
All events taking place during and in the run up to the Brathay Windermere Marathon will raise finds for Brathay's charitable work.
The trust launched a Capital Appeal in 2004 to upgrade and modernise its estate buildings. This work will enable the organisation to expand its important work with children and young people from around the UK.
