CARNFORTH missed out on their first win of the Northern League season when Fleetwood claimed a winning draw at Broadwater.
Bowling first, the locals were on top of the Fleetwood order and they removed dangerous professional Kyle Smit when he was run out for 15.
Mike Clinning was also back in the pavilion for 16 and Nick Coultas made 27 before James Ellis departed for just seven and Wayne Clarke for 11.
But Adam Sharrocks hit 57 and Chris Stanhope 23 to give the home side late impetus and a late 19 from Adam Breakall pushed the up to 186-9 from their 50 overs. Robert Parker and Adnan Malik both claimed two wickets as Fleetwood had four men run out.
The locals fancied their chances of knocking off such a target and Lyndell Richardson and Ryan Nelson got them off to a good start before the latter fell for 24.
Then skipper Atiq uz-Zaman went for just six and Darren Moore made just three to turn what could have been a procession into a small crawl.
Richardson fell for 49 and then only Tom Barnfield made any real impact as he hit 25.
There was a late unbeaten 13 from Robert Parker and Carnforth closed on 142-8 from 50 overs with Smit claiming 4-41 and Clinning 3-32.
