MARK Woodhead hit form - but Morecambe could only manage a winning draw as they tussled with Blackpool at Woodhill Lane on Bank Holiday Monday.
The opener batted well as he made 68 while Vishnal Goyal also got among the runs with 63.
Professional Werner Coetsee slammed 38 in rapid time and skipper Mark Lomas made an unbeaten 22 as the locals posted a formidable 204-3 from their overs.
Morecambe were on top when they claimed three early wickets, including the prized scalp of Blackpool professional Justin Kreusch, but Adam Parker shut up shop and dug in for 52 as the visitors closed on 139-5.
* Lancaster found it tough going on the other side of the Bay as they drew at Barrow.
The Cumbrians are something of a surprise package this season and are riding high in second spot. And 51 from Justin Quint put them in the box seat at the Ernest Pass Memorial Ground as Barrow posted a competitive 188-5.
Quint then capped a top day as he claimed 4-19 to reduce Lancaster to 105-7 with Jamie Heywood and professional Jannisar Khan getting amongst the runs - but they received precious little support.
* Carnforth crashed to defeat at league leaders Darwen after being rolled over for just 112 in the game at Birch Hall.
That was never going to be enough, although the locals did remove Keith Semple and Gareth Cordingley cheaply before Darwen coasted home by seven wickets.
