STRIKER Peter Wright put Kendal Town ahead with a 26th-minute strike against sixth-placed Burscough, but two goals in a minute before half time punctured hopes of a home victory.
Five minutes from the break, Burscough defender Farrell Kilbane was allowed a free header from a corner to head an equaliser keeper Mark Thornley' s fingertips.
Straight from the kick-off, Burscough seized the ball back and Alan Moogan outpaced the last man with a dart down the right before slipping his shot under Thornley.
It might have been different had Wright snapped up a golden chance in the first half-hour when Town looked confident and produced some good attacking, football.
A stumble by a Burscough defender as he tried to clear with a header left Wright able to burst through but he drove his cross-shot wide of the post.
Thornley made several impressive reaction saves to stop Town suffering worse damage, but 16 minutes into the second half Burscough added a third, rather bizarre goal, as Kilbane's slightest of headers took the pace of the a free kick and the ball slo-mowed inside the post.
Burscough survived having scorer Moogan sent off for poleaxeing Ian Kilford off the ball as Town, despite their 10-man opponents, struggled to create enough of a threat to get back in contention.
