RALLYING: The bright orange Mini of driver Rob Eastwood (Bentham) and navigator Martyn Taylor (Kendal) finished a logic-defying fifth in the 1400cc class and 30th overall in North West Stages Rally.
The result leaves the team lying second overall in the Kendal Subaru KLMC Stage Rally Championship.
Featuring special stages on Blackpool Promenade, Pontins Holiday Camp and Weeton Barracks, the rally boasted a capacity entry including several World Rally Cars, Subaru Imprezas, Ford Escort/Sierra Cosworths and the evergreen MG Metro 6R4s.
"We're really pleased with this result," said Rob. "We were never going to win our class as the top 1400 cars probably have 70-80bhp more than us, but we've kept clean, attacked the tighter stages and its paid off."
