LANEQUEST: Kevin Preston navigated his way to the Kent Valley Road Club Tourist Trophy when he outscored the opposition to win his club's Lanequest at Oxenholme.
Preston incurred a five-point penalty for slightly overrunning his three-hour time slot, but by then he had bagged an adjusted 485 points on a course covering Otter Bank, Grayrigg, Beckfoot, Killington and Old Hutton and, following on from his victory in the first event before Christmas, he ensured that he won the club's top tourist crown. Second was Gary Dixon (450pts) with a ten-point advantage over Tony Dixon (440), then came Neil Hazelhurst (336), Richard Belk (330), and finally Howard, Jenifer and Bethan Richards who together scored 210 points.
The last event in the series will be from the Longlands Arms at Tewitfield on March 18.
