WETHERIGGS closed to within three points of first division leaders Kendal County, having played the same number of games as the title battle hotted up.
The Penrith side featured in the only top-flight game to go ahead, beating Lunesdale United 3-1 at home after delaying an inspection until noon. All but four fixtures were postponed because of unfit grounds.
A 22-yard strike from Steven Hall into the top corner put Wetheriggs 1-0 up, but Lunesdale's John Smith equalised before half time.
Chris Clarke put Kevin Walker away to beat the Lunesdale keeper after 65 minutes and Martyn Currie lobbed the stranded goalie from 40 yards when a poor kick-out fell to him. County beat the champions 3-2 before Christmas but the rematch - at a date still to be fixed - could be a championship decider.
