HAT-TRICK hero Bradley Hoyle scored a dramatic extra time winner as Carnforth Rangers Reserves beat Cartmel and District Reserves 3-2 in the semi final of the Holdens Solicitors.Gibson Cup.
With the score 2-2 after normal time - with Hoyle and Cartmel's Cameron Young both scoring twice - the tie appeared to be heading for a penalty shoot-out until Hoyle completed his hat-trick with the last kick of the game.
Carnforth will now meet the winners of the cancelled Mayfield United or Swarthmoor Social Club in the final on Wednesday April 8 on Giant-Axe.
Alan Coulton rolled back the years to book Marsh United Reserves a cup semi final spot.
United, mid-table in Division Two, beat Fourth Division Bentham Reserves 4-2 in the quarter finals of the Alan Shanks/Fisher/Howson Remembrance Cup.
As well as Coulton's brace, Dale Scurr and Kevin Coulton both scored for the home side with John Connaughton and Joel Willey on target for the visitors.
In the Premier Division, Carnforth Rangers are right back in the title race following their recent blip after overcoming a battling Bowerham side by 4-0. Goals from Mambwe Chilyfura, Damien Murphy and Scott King with two great strikes saw Carnforth close the gap on leaders Galgate to two points after they drew 0-0 with second-placed Caton United.
In Division One, Tic Dynamos/Overton/Middleton beat Grange 3-1 thanks to goals from Andy Thirlwell (2) and Ryan Rodrigues.
Kirkby Lonsdale lost a seven-goal thriller when they went down 4-3 to a revitalised Westgate Wanderers side.
The match of the day in Division Two was between leaders and the league’s highest scorers Boys Club and third-placed Ingleton Reserves.
And it was the leaders who came out on top, securing a narrow 3-2 win thanks to goals from Kieron Moffatt, Mark Leslie and Andy Fagan.
In Division Three, Boys Club Reserves returned to winning ways, leap-frogging Torrisholme in to second place after a hard earned 4-2 win.
In Division Four, the first honours of the season went to both Westgate Wanderers Reserves and FC Brittania who were crowned champions and runners-up respectively after third-placed Arnside Reserves lost to Millhead Reserves.
Westgate won 3-1 at AFC Moorlands Reserves whle Brittania beat Cartmel and District A 4-1.
