THERE was no upset at Lune Field Park as Carnforth Rangers comfortably beat Kirkby Lonsdale to move into Round Three of the Black Dragon Senior Challenge Cup.
Damien Murphy scored a hat-trick as Mark Plevey and veteran Gavin Darby also found the net, with Carnforth at home to Galgate in the next round.
In the Premier Division, Ingleton came out on top in a high-scoring match against much-improved Highgrove, with the result in the balance for large parts of the game.
Man of the Match Dan Tyrer scored a hat-trick for the hosts with Will Smith and player-manager David Whitfield also registering.
Jake Hope, Scott King and Jack O’Neill replied for Highgrove who remain 12th having amassed eight points from 11 games, while Ingleton stay fourth on 26 points.
In the only other game in the division, Trimpell recorded a league double over reigning champions TIC Dynamos of Overton and Middleton, winning 3-0 courtesy of goals from Liam Brown, Anthony Turner and Andrew Wade.
The Bentham versus Cartmel and District fixture was postponed as was the clash between Marsh United and Caton United at Coronation Field.
