CARTMEL AND DISTRICT are through to the third round of the Black Dragon Senior Challenge Cup with an 8-0 thrashing of a depleted Marsh United, with Matthew Burrows on target twice.
Joel Drinkall, Adam Harding, Andrew Kendall, John Lord, Steven Porter and Michael Robinson also found the net in the rout, setting up a home clash with AFC Moorlands in round three.
Ingleton crashed out of the competition at the third round stage following a 4-2 defeat to TIC Dynamos of Overton and Middleton, with extra-time required to separate the sides.
Alex Hartley and Johnny Platten scored for Ingleton while the Dynamos made progress in the tournament thanks to a Robert Goldsborough double and goals from Craig Holme and Stuart Rushworth.
In the Premier Division, second-placed Caton United staged a second-half comeback to beat relegation threatened Swarthmoor 3-2, with Jacob Davies scoring the winner after Steve Oliver’s double.
Meanwhile, defences were on top in the match between Bentham and Trimpell which ended goalless, with the home side in desperate need of points at the foot of the table.
