By the pricking of my thumbs something pleasant this way comes - by way of South Lakes Talking Newspaper.
The Volunteers of this superb charity every Thursday get a free early edition of this newspaper, do some editing of the main items then record them along with a magazine section and then send out the recordings to hundreds of blind and partially sighted people in South Lakeland.
Usually we get our editions on the Saturday but occasionally the following Monday.
Because of the current 'lockdown' this service has suffered some some disruption.
However, as from today, Thursday June 4, we are going to get a service via a Zoom session.
This may mean a slightly shorter version than we would normally have but the advantage is that we will have it on the actual day of publishing.
So, a big thank you to John Barker (chairman) and all his wonderful volunteers and, of course, to the Westmorland Gazette for allowing us this service without any charge.
