We never had the time before to simply stop and look
The virus taught us that much
That’s really all it took
Our world, it is amazing, every leaf and tree
All animals, birds and insects and creatures of the sea
We should all use this time now , to stop doing and just be
The air we breathe and share - it keeps us all alive
Our planet Earth is borrowed
Yet on it , we all survive
The virus then, must help us learn to value our time on Earth
To have respect for fellow man and know all creatures' worth
Sadly thousands had to die to make us stop and look
The virus taught us that much
That’s really all it took
A wake up call, a second chance, perhaps an Act of God
Don’t take the Earth for granted - a huge but cruel prod
We must respect the Universe and be so very clear
The Earth must be respected too, for we are just guests here
It’s not too late however, our lives to rearrange
Be kind and help all forms of life
Put simply, we must change
Realise what is important and always be aware, our planet doesn’t need us
But we really do need her
This virus won’t affect the Earth, she’ll survive when we are gone
Perhaps we need the virus to remind us
We were wrong
