Barry Norman is absolutely correct (Cummings let off the hook? - Letters, June 4). Dominic Cummings must not be allowed to remain in a position of influence in Downing Street. He must resign or be dismissed.
If he was so certain of the legitimacy of his 500 mile round trip, why did he take the trouble to conceal it from his colleagues and the public?
In the apparent absence of any rules governing the behaviour of these highly placed (and no doubt highly paid) 'special advisors', this 'virus' of assumed privilege that seems to infect them can only be confronted by a free and inquisitive Press - and our constant vigilance.
