CELEBRATIONS are in order for two South Lakeland schools as both Dallam and Windermere enjoyed success in their international baccalaureate results.
Both schools achieved an average of more than 33 points - three above the global average of 30.
Ian Lavender, head teacher at Windermere, said “I am especially pleased for the large number of students who have secured their university offers, and particularly for the success of those who took the International Baccalaureate Career-related programme, as these results have been outstanding.
"I would also like to mention the staff, who offer exceptional levels of support to the students. They should feel very proud."
And Kirstin Smith, IB Coordinator at Dallam, said she was proud of the students, particularly followin the death of head of sixth form ...... earlier this year.
“We are very proud of how our students have performed, especially in light of a sometimes difficult year," she said.
“We have students applying to Universities all over the world and are very pleased that these results are allowing the students to take up these places.”
Four students from Windermere earned places on the school's honours board for scores of over 40 points; Kacper Micek (43 points), Ella Handy (41 points), Daniel Heidland (41 points) and Tara Bryson (40 points).
Following these results at Windermere all of the pupils have secured their first choice universities, some of which include; Manchester, Loughborough, St Andrews and Edinburgh.
One student has also secured a place at the Glion University in Switzerland, while another is taking on an apprenticeship with BAE systems for Business management.
Dallam School achieve a pass rate of more than 97 per cent. Three local students; Hannah Douthwaite, Samuel Pearce and Charlie Lewis have secured places at Manchester, University College London and Leeds and plan to study; Medicine, History and Chinese.
