FUTURE rugby players will be surrounded by greenery thanks to a tree-planting campaign.
Kirkby Lonsdale Mini and Youth planted 200 trees around the border of the rugby club on Saturday, March 25.
The trees came from the Woodland Trust.
A spokesman from the club said: "A huge thank you to all of our amazing little helpers who came and planted 200 trees at the club. Their graft (and their parents) was very impressive, and many hands made light work.
"A wonderful community morning up at the club with lots of the kids saying they can't wait to tell their own children one day 'I planted those!'"
The rugby club thanked John Ladell for organising the event for the team's mini and youth teams and to David and Richard for sorting the trees and Antony for arranging the planting plan.
