PLANS have been submitted to build a new changing room facility with disabled toilets at a cricket ground in Kendal.
The plans for Sedgwick Cricket Club in Back Lane, Sedgwick, Kendal, would also see a new official’s changing room.
Planning documents state the current facilities at Sedgwick Cricket Club are ‘heavily outdated’ and fall ‘woefully short’ of the required space needed for the ‘thriving’ sports club.
“This proposal is to form a new changing facility replacing a heavily dated area of the existing pavilion that falls woefully short of the required space and accommodation of a modern thriving community sports club,” said documents.
“The new building contains facilities that serve the existing needs of the club, the players officials and spectators as well as planning for the future needs of these.
“New changing rooms along with a disabled toilet and a separate official changing room are included and the arrangement and orientation of these have been designed to allow for continued/shared use of these with both the new and old pavilions.”
Disabled access will also be provided to the new facilities with level adjustments to the land gradients to allow for the ‘raised pavilion spaces to be navigated’.
And documents state the current path will be adjusted so that a ramp is provided to the social spaces.
