With less than two weeks to go until the highly anticipated 2020 in-Cumbria Business Awards, business audience & content editor Luke Jarmyn has listed five reasons why you should make an effort to buy a ticket for the night and tune in.
1) Its uniqueness
This year's annual awards event is set to be a one-off in its history, taking place only interactively for the first time but giving you the unique opportunity to enjoy the entertainment while in the comfort of your own home.
2) High-profile faces
The in-Cumbria Business Awards brings together the biggest and best names from the various elements of the county’s economy, and that will be the same as always, while there will be the added spice of well-known celebratory radio DJ, Vassos Alexander, from the Chris Evans Breakfast Show, to keep you all amused.
3) Support Local Businesses
It has been the most difficult year for everyone, but especially local entrepreneurs running small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the county. These businesses need your support and a good way to recognise their efforts is by tuning in and sharing in their success.
4) To find out who will be crowned the winners
This does exactly what it says on the tin. We’ve had a really healthy number of applicants for this year’s awards which shows the level of perseverance and stoic strength in the face of adversity. By tuning in you’ll find out who has been chosen to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award as well as who our judges have crowned out of our final shortlists for 10 further high profile prizes.
5) To not let Covid-19 get in the way of everything
As I’ve alluded to earlier in this article with my other reasons, it has been a tough year for everyone, and not one person hasn’t been affected in some way by the Covid-19 global pandemic. But while we can’t all meet together and celebrate together, we shouldn’t let this virus stop everything that we have all worked so hard for, and there is no better way to make sure that the coronavirus doesn’t by tuning in to what is sure to be a great evening to remember.
Taking place via a live stream, the 2020 in-Cumbria Business Awards event will start at 7pm on Thursday 12th November.
