PUPILS at Coniston's John Ruskin School have been jumping for joy after receiving outstanding results.
Head teacher Miriam Bailey said students' marks had 'definitely improved' from last year.
"There has been improvement across the board," said Mrs Bailey.
"I'm really pleased about that. Everyone has worked so hard, teachers and pupils."
She added Maths and English Language were the main subjects where results had improved. Top achiever Amy Irvine secured As and A*s in all of her subjects. She plans to study English Literature, Chemistry and Psychology at Windermere's Lakes School sixth form.
"I was really surprised," said Amy. "I'm going out with my family to celebrate and seeing some friends later."
Freya Muir said she was really pleased with her As and Bs. She plans to go to Furness College, in Barrow, to study Health and Social Care.
Zak Robertson said he was a bit disappointed after he gained Cs and Ds.
"I'm still going to college I think, I'd like to do an outdoor leadership course. I love all outdoor sports: skiing, mountain biking, so I'd like to start a career related to that."
